We went to McKamey on Tuesday to adopt a dog and we couldn't be happier. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were given a tour and got to take our time looking around and playing with each dog we wanted to see. When we found our new baby, the adoption process was easy. The adoption counselor was super nice and gave us a ton of information. They are doing a great job caring for the rescue pups at McKamey. The dogs all look healthy and everything is clean. I would definitely recomend McKamey if you are looking to add to your family! Or donate if you are interested in helping!

What I love about McKamey is the atmosphere they create. They advocate for animals powerfully and with all their heart and with good attitudes in spite of the long hours and blood, sweat and tears they invest. I had to surrender an animal a year or so ago back to another area shelter and was made to feel like dirt for something that was outside my control. I knew in that moment how important it is for the animals that the general public not be treated poorly or berated when returning an animal because it makes you not want to support their endeavor or consider that place to adopt from again. McKamey is a place of inspiration and genuine care advocating and protecting one of the most precious gifts to humanity without making humanity feel horrible for enlisting their help with pets.
Very clean and neat. I feel like the adoption fees/process could be slightly more reasonable.
Bring your gently used no longer needed pet items to donaye to the shelter animals. Beds, sleeping mats, towels, blankets, bowls, collars and leashes, shampoos etc. Also cleaning supplirs for the shelter.
Took my puppy for the Wednesday shot clinic. Only 10.00 for the shot. I asked for him to be wormed. Only 10.00 for the worming administeted by the staff. Volunteers at intake were wonderful and friendly. I highly recommend this facility.
