I contacted the owner after this totally unproductive visit and she was very upset I had such a bad experience. She is issuing a refund and offered to send out another person to take care of the problems. I very much appreciated her response, thank you Brenda!
Our experience we had with mr handyman was excellent very professional very knowledgeable very polite bill went above and beyond expectation to accommodate our needs in a timely fashion. There rates are fair and reasonable. We give MR HANDYMAN 5+ stars. We want to thank Bill for his hard work and dedication to his profession.
Terrible communication. They were contracted by a local moving company who had done damage to furniture during a move. Initially they could not give me an estimate because no one was available to come out on a Monday--my only day off. A couple of Friday appointments were made and they called to confirm those appointments a day or two in advance. Unfortunately I had to reschedule but confirmed that with them on the phone. The time we finally got an appointment scheduled on a Monday the handyman never showed up because he was running behind. I called the office and they apologized and rescheduled for the next week. This time I never got a reminder call and I forgot the appointment. That was my fault. Upon contacting the company again, we set up another attempt for someone to come to my house. I received a voicemail that said "just to remind you that your appointment is for XXX, if this no longer works for you please let us know." I didn't call back because i didn't need to cancel or change, but again the next day no one showed up. When I called the office, Brenda answered and said she didn't send anyone because I hadn't called her back to confirm. I'm a small business owner--communication and confirming appointments is a big deal, but there is a difference in a reminder and a confirmation call. Brenda did send someone out immediately after I called her and the handyman was very nice when he looked at my damaged furniture. If I ever have to choose a handyman company on my own I will go with another option. I cannot vouch for the quality of their work as I have not seen that.
Unfortunately the individual sent out was not personable. He wouldn't even look inside the crawl space, much less go in it. The damage I wanted an estimate for was under the front of my house. This person not only wouldn't go into the crawl space, he was very unhelpful with the other small jobs I had.
The job was not done right the first time, but they quickly made sure that someone else was there to fix it without any back and forth and without any additional cost. Maybe a one day delay between calling and the repair but that was because no rain=no leak so I wasnt demanding an immediate resolution. So far I like this company and would be willing to try them again.
Mr. Handyman has completed multiple projects at my home. They are timely and polite. As well as having great manners, they know what they are doing and are willing to explain what is needed and is being done in language that matches the customers' knowledge level. They clean up and leave things looking great when they are done. I always feel that they listen to my needs and wants and make it happen.
I was referred to 3 handyman services by Home Depot. I only got calls from 2 of them, and Mr. Handyman is the only service that followed up on their call. So I had someone come out for an estimate. I expected the person would need to go into my crawl space to give me the most accurate estimate. My crawl space entrance is small and I let Mr. Handyman know so they could send out someone with a smaller build.
