Tour was amazing and very educational. Flights were nice and. The staff was very knowledgable. Great experience overall.
Great people that explain every process they take in making their whiskey. They have a bar area in the back and which you can hang out and enjoy all of their flavors and have a wonderful bartender named Brandy. Think of it. A bartender named Brandy! That could be dangerous :-)
The whiskeys are bourbons at barrel and bottle proof and a white dog only available in the tasting room. When you order a flight, three small cocktails are also made for you.
Though the government prohibits distilleries from serving any alcohol not produced in house, the mixed drinks were great. I was especially baffled that a Manhattan cocktail could be made without vermouth and still be delicious. They partner with a local syrup producer.
Fun place to visit for a tour and tasting. The ticket price gets you the tour and a whiskey tasting. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tasting was very nicely put together. It included three ½ oz pours of different whiskeys and three mini cocktails. They provide an information sheet for the tasting which I really appreciated. Their current standard releases are sourced, but all very tasty. They have a few experimental releases of their own making, and will be releasing their own standard release in the next few years. Really enjoyed this, and looking forward to trying more next time we're in town.
The whole staff was very pleasant, and we enjoyed the space. It appears to be primed to grow. While there are stills and barrels at this location, they now distill and store whiskey in a large off-site location to meet demand.
Neither of us was keen on the white dog particularly, and apparently it's a bit more random in the brewing/distilling process (we didn't take a tour). The bourbons were both enjoyable, and we especially found the cask strength to be a great example of ~frontier-style whiskey.
We came in the other day to try some flights of whiskey.
Many bartending tools and ingredients are available for purchase, and the whiskey is competitively priced. Just note, not all the tools and whatnot they sell here are of superb quality -- they're just the least expensive items from Amazon purchased in bulk and resold inexpensively.
One of the nicest places to get single barrel whiskey. Their other offerings were also absolutely top notch. If you get a chance to visit at least do their whiskey taste test and tour. Staff is exceptionally knowledgeable and welcoming. Please do yourself a favor and visit when you can.
