Just ok, barely. I had two slices, a BBQ chicken, and a veggie. The chicken slice had 2-3 very small pieces of chicken and the veggie three small slices of green peeper. I get it that meat is expensive, but veggies? I'd really expect to see a healthy portion of peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc. on a veggie slice. The crust was thin and actually in some bites tasted like saltine crackers. The inside of the place is bare bones, very little atmosphere, and the drink selection is pretty slim.
Pizza was good, not amazing. Decent selection and prices. Finding a seat was problematic! Four tables and a high top. I stood to eat since it was too cool to eat outside. (plenty of outdoor space).. Please add more chairs.
The customer service here was exceptional. I love that I can get margherita pizza here by the Slice and the ingredients are awesome! The slices are the perfect size and the beer is very reasonable! Cheapest beer in Chattanooga I'm pretty sure! The service was quick so if you need a quick bite, I would definitely recommend. There is also room to sit and hang, but not that much, so not recommended for huge groups or lengthy stays! I love be vibe and believe this is the perfect addition to Southside. Currently they close at 10 but would love for this place to pick up so it can be a late night go to for Southside and the Chattanooga community! Also - after 9:30pm they serve half price slices as they get ready to close! Take advantage of that and give this place a try!
I'm kind of shocked, as the owner's other business down the street has very good burgers, the best fries in town, and a nice assortment of beers on tap, and is nicely decorated. I will try it again in a month or two to see if things have improved.
The pizza is delicious! The crust is thin and chewy, the way they make it in Brooklyn. It's also huge. One slice, maybe two is all you need to fill you up. Order the pie with meatballs and you won't be disappointed. The only reason for four stars is the price. At $22 a pizza, it's a bit pricey. But worth it!
As for now, Community Pie has nothing to fear!
The pizza is ridiculously good. It really is. However, that doesn't quite make up for the price of it ($5/slice), although it's a pizza place smack dab in the middle of the biggest gentrification efforts in downtown, so it's also not particularly unexpected. The staff is all very helpful, friendly, and attentive. Cost aside it's still a great place to drop by on occasion for lunch. The Spicoli and the Mama Mia are both excellent choices, and if it isn't too hot/cold the outdoor seating is a very nice option.
