Trey and Tavish are so helpful and nice, they went above and beyond to help find the right piece of wood for our project. Great customer service, with great prices. I will definitely recommend and return for our next project!
Wow! Just wow! I only bought $5 worth of lumber for a custom canoe seat, but these guys treated me like a $50,000 customer. Great selection of less common woods I couldn't find anywhere else in town (I needed ash). Will be returning for all future projects.
From the moment I pulled into the parking lot, the lady (owner, owner's wife, manager, someone with a bad attitude?) acted like I was bothering her. I explained I was looking for some mahogany, maple, and the like. Just some smaller pieces to start out with. She said there were free pieces in the back. I explained I was also looking for figured woods so I can have an idea of the quality, amount of stock I can look forward to, and availability, just to have an idea on lead times. She basically snarled her nose at me and said 'Thats not going to be in the free pile" I explained I didn't expect it to be, I just wanted to see what they had, and I didn't mind paying for it, since I was trying to find a local supplier. She told me to go find one of the guys and tell him to cut something for me. I misunderstood, and went in the office, where one of the workers was. He very graciously was showing me pieces based on the kinds of wood I asked. This incensed the lady, and had the worker stop showing me pieces for sale by saying, in a very condescending tone, "I told him to go find one of the guys to find him something, I don't know why he's in here"
Worst customer service I've experienced in a very long time. I'm a luthier, looking for a local supplier for mahogany, spalted and flamed maple, ash, etc, as well as more exotic woods such as rosewood, cocobolo, and zebrawood.
I drove all the way from Knoxville. When I arrived and went in the office the woman greeted me. I told her what I was looking for and this is when it went south. I was looking for spaulted maple and burl wood. She said well it's kinda all over the place. She took me to a pile of wood that she said was "air drying" it was outside in the pouring rain. There were several pallets of wood in the "air drying area that were SOAKING WET. She took me Inside to wood that she said was kiln dried. She took me to a broken down pallet of mixed maple species and said" there might be some spaulted in here" if I lived locally I still wouldn't come back.
I went to the back, to try to make the best of this already frustrating experience. Pretty much everyone was on lunch, but again there was one worker who was willing to help me. He showed me a few things in the scrap pile, I explained that I was looking for a local supplier, but I could tell he was on lunch, so I didn't want to bother him. I asked if the lady up front always had such a bad attitude and he just kind of smiled. Obviously, this isn't something new.
I know they've been in business for almost 25 years, so maybe they have enough customers that they don't care if they get new ones or not. Or maybe she was just having a really bad day. Regardless, that is not the kind of customer service that should be shown to anyone, especially a potential new client. I wish them continued success, but I for one will not give them another chance.
