For my cross country move I did a lot of comparison shopping. For me the PODS service offered the best value for the money. The service was excellent, with the pod delivered and picked up at both ends exactly when scheduled, and the two months of storage in between was very useful, as we had some traveling to do before settling down at our destination. I couldn't have asked for better service.
NOT WORTH IT! The guy who picked up my pod was great. Really helpful an imformative. But trying to come get the stuff out was a different story. My Dad came up 5 1/2 hours to help me get my stuff out of Pod. I had called 3 Days in advance and set up my pod to be available all day even put my dads name in the system so he would have no trouble getting to it because he was going to get there before me. When he got there the place was closed. We found out later that because it rained that morning they just packed everything up and left assuming no one would come. They changed my date to Monday and left without telling me. We got it worked out with corporate that I would get the next month free so I could come then and clear the stuff out of my pod but they charged me anyways and I to call and get it refunded to me hopefully I’m the next 5 days. Just don’t waste your money. It may be more trouble to do it all yourself but you’ll save time and money in the end. I would NOT recommended PODS Chattanooga to someone looking for storage.
It was a great experience. I was remodeling the house and needed to move things in and out of the house. It was perfect. We had a lot of rain during the three months I had the pod and no leaks whatsoever. They were great when they delivered it and just as great when they picked it up. They said what they did and did what they said. You can't get much better than that.
Our experience has overall been very stressful and frustrating, we would NOT recommend!!! The pod was placed where it took up two parking spots and directly not where we asked them to put it at our apartment complex despite us holding a space for them to put it in a designated spot. The real frustration has been pick up--we arranged for the empty pod to get picked up on the 7th and that was reflected on our account online. I get home Monday night and the pod is still there--so I call and there's some error because it's not showing up on their end. That's fine I told her, I just dont want to get charged because its the last day of cycle. No worries, she said, there's a 3 day grace period for the pod to get picked up and we won't get charged. I asked her to email this to me so I have it in writing and she said she noted it on the account. I check my bank statement this morning and I was charged the $200+ for a new billing cycle. I call again and have to go through the same story 2 different times and then I'm told there is no grace period and I have to call back and submit a request for a refund. The email that I requested arrived and was a generic email with not pertinent information. What a nightmare and we regret using PODS when we had gotten recommendations for a more local company. Hopefully better news after I call (for the 3rd time) tomorrow after they have picked up the pod.
I actually didn't get the chance to use the PODS service as I had to cancel my order due to time constraints, but when I originally called, the customer service agent was BY FAR the best I've encountered in my life! Ray Lewis was helpful, talkative, hilarious, and helped me through the process! Give this man a raise or hefty Holiday bonus!
