It's a great restaurant. The menu is enormous and the selection is broad. You might balk a little at the price on a few things... until you are served. Remember, don't leave your jaw hanging. The amount of food brought to your table is quite shocking.
I absolutely love this place. Not to mention this waitress there by the name of Ashley she was so amazing, I wanted for nothing had no complaints. She really knew how to take care of my table. Truly a blessing to have such good service at one of the busiest times of the year
The sodas are pricey and they serve alcohol. But don't forget dessert. Whether it's baklava or cake... It's the best. My favorite is the New York Black Out. Wow.
Had a long day and City Cafe was the only place still serving (24hr). I chose the stuffed tomato. It was excellent! I wish I would've taken a picture. It was huge. As with most items on the menu the portions are plentiful. You can't beat the prices. The service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend.
Most usually a place like this that has such a huge menu is not great. The menu is of an all American Diner and has just about anything you want. We ate here with a small group (3) and the place was packed we waited about 30 minutes but the food was well worth the wait. This place is this is a must stop in the Chattanooga area. We were in the bar area in the back and walked through the diner area twice late night and both times the place was full. We came back the next morning, mid morning, for brunch and again the place was full. The wait staff was very busy and was about a 3.5 out of 5, but everything else was really good. If I'm back in the Chattanooga area I will eat here multiple times to try different items on the menu. OH they also serve whole cakes and pies at what was very reasonable prices although I did not eat any the cakes looked amazing
I have yet to meet a server that isn't familiar with the whole menu. The specialty menu or seasonal menu is fabulous.
Count on taking home leftovers.
They have two locations in the Chattanooga area, both are great.. Downtown and of Bonny Oaks Dr near Interstate 75.. The menus are fabulous they offer every kind of food it seems.. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner.. Great kids menu as well. If you want dessert this is the place to go, huge selection of cakes and pies. They offer other dessert items as well... You will always leave full as a tick
This location is bright and loud, the Lee Highway location is darker and the noise level is buffered, and not nearly as tight as downtown location. Both have horrible narrow parking lots... Busy times makes it worse.
Seating can be a bear. Sometimes long waits and the servers are so very busy, they are hard to catch. The booths are narrow so if you like room ask for a table.
With the menu being so big, some dishes are fresh, home-made and beautiful, while others are most definitely frozen and doctored, but still tasty. For example the Sheppard's pie is delicious and made fresh while the country fried steak is frozen. (Sorry, If it's fresh, you might reconsider how it's made). The country fried steak is not bad, but it's not great either, but you get TWO in an order.
You might consider splitting a plate if you aren't very hungry. Whatever you do, please, save some room for dessert. The cakes and cheesecakes are simply wonderful.
There is a wonderful selection of Greek and Mediterranean dishes. The salads are huge and the list of sides is very large. Lots and lots of choices.
