DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING CAPITOL IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR BACK WHEN PROMISED. My 89 year old parents took their Camry to Capitol for repair of minor damages. They were informed that the $2,800 of work would be completed in 15 days. They believed 15 days was an unusually long time for less than $3,000 of repairs, however, because they had bought the car at Capitol and had always had the car serviced at Capitol, they left the car to be repaired. When the 15 days had passed, my mother called Capitol and was told that the work was not completed. A few days later, my mother called again and asked when the work would be completed. Capitol would not give her a definite date. Later the same day, while visiting my parents, I called Capitol and spoke with the manager who told me the car was in the paint shop and would be painted that afternoon (a Friday). I told the manager that my parents were having to rent a car to drive at their own cost and that the delay in finishing the repair was costing them money. The manager said that there had been a holiday since the car had been delivered and that they didn’t work on weekends. I reminded her that she knew all of these things when she promised the car would be ready in 15 days. She didn’t seem to be too happy with my observation. I insisted that I be given a date on which the car would be ready for pickup. The manager told me the car could be picked up the following Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Because I intended to accompany my parents to pick up the car and because I was traveling from over 100 miles away to help them, I called Capitol on the following Wednesday to make sure that, as promised, the car would be ready later that afternoon. At that time I was told the car was in the paint booth in the paint shop. (Obviously, the statement that the car would be painted the previous Friday afternoon was untrue.) I again insisted on a date the car could be picked up, I was told that because of all of the work that remained to be done on the car, the car would be not ready until the following Monday or, possibly, even Tuesday. Shortly thereafter on the same day, the insurance agent and insurance adjusters for my parents interceded with Capitol, and miraculously, Capitol was able to complete the work that I was told would take 3 to 4 workdays in just one day. My parents were finally able to pick up their car 24 days after it had been delivered to Capitol. That was 9 days after the car had been promised, significantly increasing the car rental charges and creating significant additional stress for my 89 year old parents. After becoming aware of this problem, I looked at reviews on Google and Yelp and found that my parents’ problem was not unique. In fact, it appeared to me to be a common problem with Capitol. I highly recommend purchasing a vehicle from Brad at Capital Toyota. He is very knowledgeable and helpful and made the process very easy without any complications. We were just starting our search for a replacement vehicle. Our 1997 Chevy Tahoe was becoming a money pit. We had not purchased a vehicle since 2011 when we bought a Chevy Impala. I am always anxious when making a major purchase, especially when having to deal with pushy sales people. Capital Toyota was our second stop. Our Client Advisor, Brad Doty, introduced himself as soon as we arrived. He was very friendly and helpful and listened to what we were interested in. We ended up buying a 2013 Lexus GX 460 that was in excellent condition. The financial consultant we met with was also very helpful and worked with us to get a payment we were comfortable with. His name is Joe Kaufman. We were there later in the evening and my wife needed to leave to pick her car up at Firestone before it closed. However, we were not finished with the financials. Brad offered to take my wife to pick up her car so I could finish the paperwork. We traded the Tahoe in and Brad provided boxes for me to clean out the trunk and he even helped transfer the items. All in all a very pleasant experience and we couldn't be happier with our purchase and will definitely consider Capital Toyota and Brad for our next purchase.
