The food is always great! The atmosphere is nice and the people r great. !!! Just come in for dinner, have a seat and they will take care of the rest !!!
My uncle came In Town today from Kansas and wanted some good soul food. Had been to Herman's before and food was very good but boy o boy was I disappointed today!! I brought my little kids with me, we had to wait almost an hour for or food as we watched every one come in, be served and leave. I was starting to wonder if it might be the color of my skin. Then when we got out order, they gave me creamed corn for fried corn which the waitress insisted was fried. And my uncle ordered fried corn also and got fried okra. Brought it to the attention of only waitress working and she just kind of laughed it off. I was trying to maintain my composure but I was really pissed off. Terrible service, medocre food today. The kids got broccoli with cheese as their side. Was steamed broccoli with a piece of Kraft cheese microwaved on top. Honestly??!!!
U dont usually get spaghetti at a soul food joint, these guys do it well - memphis platter. The corn bread was dry but candied yams made up for it. Catfish plate was ordered by several at the table and they loved it. Family service was nice to see. They have homemade cake up front and plenty of sides to choose from.
This is one of my favorite places when I come back to Chattanooga. Von our server is awesome and the most efficient server that i have ever met. Thanks for great food.
The food was good and the service was great. I asked for no salt to be cook on my fish and chicken and they did just that. The pinto beans has an unnecessary aftertaste.
