The pulled pork was great but OH - those ribs! I thought I heard angels singing when I bit into them! I'm a connoisseur of BBQ (well, I like to think I am) and it's hard to place all the flavors in these ribs. Just know that of all the ribs I've ever eaten, this went straight to #1 on the taste scale. I knew I had to go back in there and get some to take home for the Darling Bride. She took one bite and her eyes rolled into the back of her head.
The pulled pork was amazing! My wife said the ribs were some of the best she's ever had. Sauce was spicy, which I like. Bare bones building. Food served on Styrofoam plates. What other way is there to eat BBQ! When you walk in the first thing you notice is the charred, brick oven with slowly rotating meat. Matt, who took our order, was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Great experience!
The smell hit me like a ton of bricks... it's like Glade had a BBQ-scented air freshener and someone emptied a can of it into the dining room. It wasn't the smell of BBQ... it was the smell of remarkable BBQ. I ordered the rib & pork plate, which is a little bit of everything.
I almost passed right by it. The only thing that indicated activity were a couple of cars out front. The sign on the door said "OPEN" so in I went.
Skip the chain restaurants and the fancy establishments. If you're in the Chattanooga area and want the flat-out best BBQ ribs on earth, go straight to Sunset. Any effort to get there will be worthwhile.
The Bbq sauce is great but the ribs today had a lot of burn pieces mix with the fresher ribs..normally the ribs are excellent but today I didn't like the harder older ribs mix witg the fresher ribs.
The Sunset Inn is a great place for authentic BBQ in Chattanooga. The Ribs are Awesome!
