When I told them I wanted to pay cash, they insisted they must have my insurance information - it was their protocol. When I asked after some insistence, "Let me get this straight - you will not take American currency in exchange your services?", I was put on hold while someone in the sales prevention department answered in the affirmative. If you wonder why healthcare costs have spiraled out of control, it's because of practices like this that separate the customer from the service provider and artificially inflate prices. Who in the world turns down a cash-and-carry customer when insurance adds so much unnecessary expense and processing to a transaction? These people, that's who.
If these medical professinals don't have the sufficient problem-solving skills necessary to figure out how to take cash payment for their services, I would hate to see what happens when they are faced with a complex medical condition. Someone should drop off a piggy bank at their office and do a training seminar on how it works.
Dr. Mynatt has a very reserved and professional personality (yet nice), but he is definitely spectacular at what he does!

Dr. Mynatt performed my surgery, and it went just beautifully! After countless sinus infections over several months, it was finally decided that I should have surgery. They used balloons to widen the passages to the areas above my eyes, and also did surgery to clear out behind my cheeks. I had very little pain, and I haven't had a bad sinus infection in the three months since.
